FPD Feel like this flies under the radar for most and that’s a good thing.

I will be in Lafayette/Youngville this weekend.

(At Nunu's) Should I get the Tumbling Dice or the Lasso 18 pick? or both?

That Lasso is interesting(99% corn) but I'd have to try before buy at that price. I have liked all light whiskeys I've tried.

well then you will love it

Super oily and viscous/buttery, only 121 proof which for a light whiskey is somewhat low proof. nice confectionary sugar/marshmallow, vanilla, butterscotch on the palate. Goes down way too easily for 121 proof. Most light whiskey is around 99% corn and 1% malted barley which adds to that sweet butteriness people get on light whiskey, but you can definitely still taste the barrel influence as well which I personally love, and since they are typically aged in non-charred oak you get less of the tannin interection which also lends itself to that softer profile. If you like most light whiskey you try, you will like this one too. I personally think light whiskey is what MGP does best. I am a huge light whiskey fan and this one impresses me

and for an 18yr ALW store pick, the price is actually pretty damn good. I have tried another lasso 18 pick and their standard lasso 18, the nunu's was the best of the 3 although all 3 were great. So if you like light whiskey and are interested in lasso 18, the nunu's pick is definitely the one i'd pull the trigger on. Hell if i did not live in new orleans I'd grab another bottle if they still have some

How is that? Every Pinhook I’ve had has been over oaked. I like the richness of oak but not the dry tannic oak. I want to like them and I have two bottles.

Does not feel oaky, even on the nose. It's not like the profile of a 10-year, which I like.

Took this on Saturday so it’ll give you an idea of what they have. Obviously they have a lot more.

I have liked both of the collaboration series I have tasted over the vertical. The vertical just seems off to me.
