Any of you do any blind tests at home?
Couple days ago did my first one, only been drinking bourbon about 6 months so haven't developed ability to pick out all these notes, I just like it or don't. Have 15-16 bottles now
and nothing over $60. Picked what I like drinking lately and did a blind. First mistake, 6 was too many for me and probably messed up rankings doing that.
The 6 were: Riff Single Barrel, Russell 10 year, 1910, Michters Rye, Michters American Whiskey, and Woodford Reserve DO.
Had an idea what the order would be and I was way off.
My results in order of preference:
1910
Michters American Whiskey
Russells 10
Michters Rye
WR DO
Riff Single Barrell
Top 2 were much better than others; and Riff was easily last which really surprised me.

1910 is one of my go back to over and over favorites. Just so smooth and great syrupy mouth feel. IMO, similar to Eagle Rare.

That’s quite the melting pot for a blind

My son picked this one up for me for Christmas last year. BTW do you have any more Diversion Pizza Glencairn glasses for sale at your place?

Father’s Day gift. Not as soapy tasting as it was on the fresh crack. I couldn’t explain it that day.

1910 is a top 5 daily for me. Same with the Russel’s 10. If you like those, the Bardstown Origins BIB might be up your alley.

Oh it’s in line to get cracked. Don’t get your panties in a wad about it being unopened.
I won’t bother to tell you what else was in the assorted case that he bought at the same drop, that I’m slowly working my way through.

You’re more patient than I am
I was never one to keep bottles unopened, pretty much every thing I’ve ever bought, I opened within a week or so.
3PD 14+ year MGP rye finished in a port cask, after an undocumented Old Fitz 7 year BiB, and a Jefferson’s Cask Strength
