toof, i've not seen that Peerless before. That sounds very interesting. I don't see a lot of Peerless at my local places. I've had only one bottle.

So what do you think of it?
I've got Penelope Rye finished in Tokaji barrells. It s darn good.

It was from the New Orleans Bourbon Fest maybe 4 year ago. Very unique bottle with the licorice backend. I think if you call them you can get it from them when they do a barrel release of it

Thanks toof. I'll have to try contacting them about getting a bottle.
I did find a double oaked release of Peerless a year ago. But you had to be a member and use points to be able to buy. I hate all that crap.

Two weeks in Colorado camping and couldnt smoke a single cigar I brought. Strict fire restrictions.
Spent last two days driving home. Done for the day. Time for a cigar and a drink

All the chased “tator bottles” don’t live up to this one.

That's a nice haul. You must have had a really good week.
So I'm new to New Riff and got the single barrel as well. I really like it a lot.
I haven't had Still Austin or Blue Note in a long while. I need to grab those too.
I haven't been disappointed with anything Penelope. The Architect you can pick up a raw wood note. I like it.
Let me know how Ezra Brooks is. I haven't had that.

How old? 4 year is a standard shelfie, that is pretty good, IMO.

Anything older will have a premium, some of the older Willett ryes are very good.

The 4 yr willet rye is solid, but nowadays, If I’m paying $60+ for a rye, I’m going to find my way up another $20-$30 and finding something barrel proof like an old forester or EC. Those are lights out for a few more bucks.

While I do have a willet on the shelf, I don’t visit it often. If you come across a JD single barrel barrel proof rye, that is light years above that willet if you grab a good one.

Truth.

I do like me an Angel's Envy rye too though.
