The EC 524 is classic. However, currently this Green River is very fine.

Anyone here know about these from Dancing Panda? New Riff? Heaven Hill?

Barton, with a non-standard Barton mashbill is what the 8 year is

quote:
The brand name “Dancing Panda” and related marks (e.g., Coalition, Derby Road) are registered to Dancing Panda, LLC ?. Who Makes It? • Dancing Panda, LLC handles branding, sourcing, aging, and bottling. • They don’t distill in-house—everything comes from established Kentucky distilleries: •
The 10-year expression is sourced from Heaven Hill ?. •
The 8-year is reportedly from the 1792 Barton distillery ?. •
The 4-year likely uses New Riff distillate ?.
This is all I could find via ChatGPT.

Think I’m going to let onlydrams app pick my pours tonight

I know this is gonna sound stupid, but I have got to get more good shelf pours like this Green River Full Proof

Not stupid at all, I followed my EC Barrel Proof with Green River the other day and my first thought was, I think this is better.

I guess I meant that I don’t want it to sound like a humble brag, but I just don’t have that many shelfies on my shelf. But I definitely need to pick up more things like Green River full proof, knob creek 12, Bulleit 12, etc…

I’m on a work trip. I’ve got to fly back. I visited a local liquor store and there is a Rare Character Rye store pick for $99. It’s 8 year and 125 proof. They didn’t have a sample. Is it worth the hassle to fly back? Distilled in Kentucky

Did you check the back label? Where’s it distilled? 8 year MGP rye at 125 proof could be really good, but I wouldn’t say it’s a guaranteed buy at $100
ETA: Kentucky distilled, I would probably buy it. Did you take a pic of it? The barrel code will probably tell you who distilled it

Didn’t take a picture of it. Who do they get from in Kentucky?

Sounds like it’s Bardstown Bourbon Co distilled:
quote:
SEG 8+ Year Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey Distilled in Kentucky, Aged in Kentucky 64 rye, 30 corn, 6 malted barley SEG, short for segale, is an Italian word for rye. This unique run carries distinct earthy flavors and spices, with a rye content of 64%, SEG offers a harmonious blend for those who prefer rye-forward profiles and sweet notes from corn and malt, reminiscent of caramel and vanilla. This series of barrels showcases a diverse array of citrus flavors, including lime zest, grapefruit, and lemon, as well as unique herbal notes like thyme and rosemary. The nose offers deep rye with the aroma of lime zest, burnt caramel, toffee, whipped cream, rosemary, clove, nutmeg, thyme, and cardamom.

Thanks for the info. If I didn’t have to travel with it I’d likely grab
