3PD
This one is for all you non scotch whiskey guys.
This special edition Balvenie is aged 12 years in ex bourbon casks, per usual. Then they take virgin bourbon casks, have them toasted in Kentucky, then toasted again in Scotland, and finish the whiskey in said casks.

Evening gents.
FPD. Just took the wifey to pound town. Need the barrel proof bourbon to replenish the electrolytes.

Premier is dropping an OF barrel strength pick this week and a second OF barrel strength and Eagle Rare pick at the end of March. Keep your eyes open!

How’s that Balvenie American Oak?
Balvenie is one of my favorite distilleries. Love the Double Wood 12 and 17, Carribean Cask and the Port Wood 21. But haven’t had the American Oak.
I saw a rare bottle of Balevenie Day of Dark Barley, a 26 year old whisky that I think was only made once. But I wasn’t ready to pay nearly a grand for a bottle of whisky.

This was $69. I know the week of peat has gotten expensive. I haven't seen the dark barley yet.
It's part of a story series, and those are the three released so far.
It's definitely worth picking up if you see it. It has a very oaky spicy bourbon nose, but the flavor is very Balvenie 12. Lots of fruit, honey, and a bit of the toasted oak in the back.
It's basically the 12 with the toasted char of fresh bourbon casks added. The nose is more Bourbon, the taste is more Balvenie.

Like to hear this, should be getting one this week. Did you get the ECBP in state?

I'll have to give Larceny another shot. I tried it once and I did not enjoy it.

The one he’s referring to is the barrel proof version that comes out 3 times a year, it’s much harder to get than the Elijah Craig barrel proof that also comes out 3 times a year.

I'm not a fan, but I have not tried the barrel proof either. As EC says, that is the one they are referring to. It's supposed to be an excellent release this round.

The BP is much better than the regular one IMO. But the BP was slim pickings recently. Only 5 bottles made it to laffy I’m told. Tried to order one but struck out.

In Biloxi a few weeks back. I'm a little surprised it hasn't hit the shelves here yet. Surely it will within the next week or so. I definitely plan on buying another.
I knew I got lucky with the Larceny BP,but didn't realize distribution would be this sparse. Hopefully more will make it this way. 47 bucks with that flavor profile is pretty remarkable.

Yep, more is coming next week though.

If any of y'all happen to be able to grab an extra Larceny BP, I'd love to get it
I've only seen it once on a shelf, and didn't realize how small the distribution is.
