I'm a fan of AE - they haven't made a secret of the fact that they source their product and then do innovative things with it.

This is a Whiskey/Bourbon/Scotch thread, but mostly bourbon heads in here.

Anyone in here enjoys scotch more than bourbon?

Over the last year, I've got hooked on Belvenie 14 scotch.

This stuff is amazing. I've yet to try a scotch better tasting then that. Macallen 12 is close.

Any other ones I need to try (under $100 a bottle)?

If you like Balvenie, try the doublewood 12 yr.

Is that Balvenie 14 the Carribean Cask? I have heard that Rum finished version is outstanding but haven't tried it yet.

Had a couple of pours of Mac12 last night, pretty good stuff.

Lagavulin 16 never disappoints and its under $100.

I really enjoy the Oban 14. I've been thinking about trying that Balvenie 14, so you may have just pushed me over the edge.

That's true. I've never developed a taste for Scotch though. I have tried that's for sure.

Going to give this a try after lunch. Went into a store in Ky that had a few cases of Woodford Reserve Rye. They also had about 8 bottles of Jefferson's Ocean.
