I have recently seen a couple blogs talk about jefferson 30 yr and a new aged at sea. The aged at sea will be 6 or 7 yr barrels taken to sea for another 4 yrs i believe.

HERE is a pretty good write-up of the whole JPS line. It's quite a weird way of doing business: starting with a wheated Stitzel-Weller product and then going to a mysterious source for the subsequent bottlings. I think they're now stuck offering these super aged bourbons because you can't go back and have a JPS 15 and charge $100+ for it. It seems to me like the JPS line is going to be like Parker's Heritage - an annual release but different every time - but they have pigeon-holed themselves into increasing the age and being secretive about what's inside.

good read and I agree that using the same bottle/style for each release gets confusing

I was talking about the 21 Rye but I'm glad I didnt mess with that overpriced 21 either. I just dont care for NDPs. Granted, Jeffersons may be the better NDP out there... I just like to know where the juice I'm drinking comes from.

I'm kind of excited to try the AE myself. Passed on a ton of it at the beach in October.

I have not had the crown but had the Wild turkey honey and it was awful...nothing like AE to me.

Supposedly these are two different mixes as well...one sweeter...one spicier. I have one of each to see if I can tell a difference.
