Not as impressive as NolaGT's hauls, but here's the ones from the weekend out of Nashville.

Does anyone have a feel for the retail price, and the scalper's (Dorgnac's) price for this release of PVW? I'm trying to decide if a Second Mortgage is in order. Actually, I'll get 10 bottles of Elmer T before I pay $300 for a bottle of ER17 or Pappy 10 (prices I was quoted today)

Had to pop in this thread after I remembered about this whiskey I had while in Austin a few weeks back. Any if you had Rebecca Creek Whiskey? I am certainly not a whiskey connoisseur, but I really enjoyed about a half a bottle if this stuff while I was there.

Last year, Dorignac's had 5 bottles of Pappy 23 for $750 each & 5 Pappy 20's for $500 each. With them selling a Hirsch 16 for $750 this year, I would imagine that those prices will be similar this year...and I'll bet they will get at least the 20 or 23 in the next few weeks.

It's hard to gouge for much more than that, though with Pappy anything could be possible.

Your prices you listed are ridiculous, especially for Van Winkle 10, which I don't think is worth a third of that.

It's just my opinion, but if you want to try some, you're better off finding it in a bar and overpaying for one drink than a whole bottle...then you can find out how
much it's actually worth to you...

Oh I've had all of the white whales except Hirsch. I was just trying to calibrate after having a list of offerings sent to me today and just about suffering a coronary over the prices.

Pappy prices are going to be crazy this yr. From reports I have seen 15 yr has been a hard find this yr. There was much less bottled this yr. If you can find one I would guess the secondary price to be around $350-$400. Pappy 20, with the stolen bottles I would assume that it would drive that price up also. It was selling for $500 but now I doubt you can find it for under $600. And for 23, this is the last bottling of all SW juice. I would expect these bottles to be at an extreme premium. Maybe $800 a bottle secondary market.

A little update on the JPS18 SB. I had sent the pics to a a place where I got my 4 roses 125yr a couple weeks ago. He replied saying they sold 80 cases of the single barrel...they had bought 2 barrels themselves. So I gave him a call this morning to see what I could find out. He had some pics of what they got in but non that you could read the label. He said it was in 2011 when they got the last barrel but one of his customers had actually bought a whole barrel himself He was going to call him and some other people to see if there was any info he could get. The labels that were on there bottles were not picked by the store...it was just what came in.

The label and date are the only odd things about those bottles. Did they find some lost SW barrels in 1999?

Heh...I just got off the phone with that guy you talked too. I called Castle Brands direct and got that guy on the phone. He said he just had a question about a bottle with no label...I said I know the guy your talking about He said to give him the number and it will send it to the guy that does the bottling to get more info. He said he thinks its just a misprint on the label. He said the 18 was distilled in 89-91 so he thinks maybe it should say 1989 on the label. I am sending him the pics and info so lets see what comes back.

Awesome! Pretty good customer service for a company so mysterious about where their whiskey is distilled.

Did you ask if he could decipher the serial number on the bottles?

I asked him for any information he could give me...history on the single barrel program...who might have sold these bottles. I just hope I can get more info than the date it was bottled. I hope someone remembers "ohh yeah I remember that date error" lol. They are both from the same barrel so it makes sense that it could just be a typo on that run.

I also asked him about the reserve if it really changed from "very old" to "years 15 old"
