hahhaa! yea that answers my question. i know you had told me about those bottles before but couldn't remember what the story behind them was

NOLAGT...Those JPS 18 labels say Distilled in the Fall of 1999. That would make it 14 years old at best and definitely not SW juice. Mistake on the label maybe?

Good point...not sure really. From the reading I have done so far it seems some old barrels were found maybe and then a single barrel program was done to some stores? The bottles have a serial number etched into the bottom of them...I dont see that on the 17...anyone got a 18 handy to see if they have that. I have also seen some saying batch numbers starting with a D and these are B.

uh oh..... i just did a little search and it looks like all the JPS 18 SB was distilled in the fall of '91 and the labels are almost entirely hand written. In fact I dont even really see any direct refernce to there being a single barrel offering.

I saw a label that had the B batch number that was hand written and had 1991 but didn't look like the label on mine. I seem to remember seeing a D batch as well a while back that was different as well but cant find it now. Interesting lol...I know the guy I got it from...it wasnt some guy in a white van in the parking lot

That was not the one I just saw.
I have seen a few things talking about a single barrel offering...just not much more info than that. I am digging tho.

I saw that site too but that is literally the only mention I saw of a single barrel. The thing that concerns me the most is the label.

The thing that concerns me now is the fact it says 99 not 91...didnt dawn on me to do the math. I cant imagin someone would make a fake lable with the wrong date and not change it tho. I call the guy I got it from...he is going to do some asking around too.
These mention single barrel too.

Here is another different label...this D51 number correlates to the mention of it in one of those links...and it has no date on it.

That's the first time i've ever seen that label too... That label says "small batch" and "single barrel" and also lists a "master blender" for a single barrel. I wouldnt think a single barrel bottling would be blended if its really single barrel. idk man...weird

In one of those links someone is talking about the D50something he called it along with others. He was having some and said he asked why it had both small batch and single barrel. He said it was confirmed a single barrel. I dont know why it would have both tho. I just joined that site to ask about it. Maybe a very small batch of single barrels?

I would be worried that it says 1999 instead of 1991 too. JPS 18 came out in what 2010 or 2011? That would make it 11 or 12 years old if Distilled in the Fall of 1999. It just doesn't compute.

Yea thats what worries me too... the year and the format of that label. I would join straightbourbon as well and ask on there.

Yea im waiting to get permission to post. The format doesnt bother me since I have seen more than one style...its the year.

Well I know we've moved on since, but I thought I would give an update about my completely sticker-less JPS18. A brand rep emailed me back saying that my bottle number would have been bottled in June 2012 and that the sticker must have fallen off. He didn't give me a batch number.
If it was for trading I'd be a little miffed he didn't offer to mail out a replacement sticker, but it's for drinking so I'm cool with it.

That's right I remember seeing you talking about getting your number checked. All my 18yrs have a number including the single barrels. Can you see what kind on info you can get on the number and any SB info.

I would be making some calls. Those seem very fishy
