Picked up this decanter from 1975 conmemorating the opening of the dome today, tax strip still intact.

My parents have a shitload of decanters kinda like that. Is there a market for that at all? They need to unload that shite, and if they could get something for it that would be ideal.

Generally they are worth less than a regular bottle with the same contents for some reason. Personally, I think they are cool.

My advice would be to post what you have here and we can help you figure out if it's worth anything. Keep it public or someone will always try to swindle you.

Edit: Include in your pictures and info if the tax strips are still on them and such. That will greatly effect value.

I have the same Decanter. Love it. Don't think it's worth much though

I doubt it is either. I wouldn't sell it regardless. I paid $35 for it so I'm happy to have it sit on my bar until the Saints make it to another Super Bowl.

Goes well with my LSU Alumni Association Stitzel Weller decanter.

I wouldn't drink any of the juice out of those old decanters. I have heard that after all this time the whiskey is laced with lead from the decanter.

Either way they are cool to collect though.

1pd: Blade and Bow. Good stuff. Getting some scotch accents from the taste. Anyone else got that from it?

I always test them for lead. General rule I've learned over the years, porcelain almost never has lead, ceramic is about 50/50 weighted more towards the pre-1970 decanters being positives.

All you guys enjoying your eagle rares.....I picked up on this morning from acquistaspaces. Hopefully pop it this weekend.

Where you find that nikka coffee? Had it in Chicago a while back and been on the lookout for it since then.
