I love it when the power goes out.

Start with buffalo trace and eagle rare. Also try 4 roses small batch, Blantons, and Bookers for a barrel proof. See what you like from those 5 and we can advise you from there.
Got some eagle rare and its pretty good. I see it come from buffalo trace so what's the difference? Went to acquistapaces in covington and am going to have to go back and stock up on some of the others.

Welcome to the Pappy craze, if they have Weller 12yr try them side by side. Taste very similar to me, really smooth and unobtrusive but not very interesting. It's the Bud Light of Pappy.

It wasnt as 'boring' as the 10 year (boring loosely bc they really are good bourbons.. Not 300-500 good though). But my 2PD was EC12 and even it seemed more complex. Perhaps the oak had something to do w that. But yea, glad to get that out of my system.
I have several bottles of OWA that really have more substance. 107 has to do w that I'm sure...But still, those were 32.99 a bottle
But yeah you nailed it, 'smooth' and a bit boring/non offending

ORVW 10 wasn't bad by any means but definitely one of the most disappointing bourbons I've had. I got mine at retail, but couldn't imagine paying more than $50 for a bottle
Eta definitely agree with you on the owa. I've had some very good bottles and have actually grown to like it more than w12

If you can find a store pick, those can really be fantastic.
Hate to speak ill of the dead but the Lincoln Road 105 win this match.

Really? I have a bottle of all of them unopened. Interesting.
The van winkle 12 is easier to get and makes great trade bait at 350 secondary.

No worries! Be sure to check out the fb page though! We will have a couple contests for bottles throughout the day. Right now we are running one for the ETL. You don't have to come tonight to win the contests!
