Help me out. I missed what A119 stands for. I’ve bought bottles based on you guys recs and am curious in this one. I scrolled back but can’t pick up what this abbreviation is.

A119

A = first release of the year. 2nd one would be B

1 = January

19 = 2019

THere's also a B519 release, which is May 2019. I haven't tried the B519 but most online say the A119 is better.

Gotcha so y’all we’re referring to the bottling of the Elijah Craig. I thought y’all were talking about that bottle but my knowledge isn’t at the point yet where I could pick up on the meaning of A119. Thanks. On another note, I have a bottle of the EC 12yr which they no longer make. Very good.

The a119 and all Elijah Craig Barrel Proofs are still aged 12 years as of now.

Yes but the company no longer states the age on the bottle. Now it just says small batch or something along those lines but they no longer print the age. The bottle I have says Elijah Craig 12yr. They are still on the money with taste though.

If you look on the side, they still state it (for now).

I've been lurking this thread off and on for awhile. I figured Scotch was fairly under-represented, so I decided to make an account. Frog 10CS for me tonight. Cheers.

Gotcha. Interesting. Actually I was passing on what I thought I learned from a fellow bourbon friend. I guess he was talking about the main label. Never looked on the side. Learn something new everyday. Thanks.

Thanks! Get ready for an influx of single malt. Although I also enjoy rye and bourbon, Scotch is my preferred spirit.

Y’all are actually both right. Elijah Craig small batch used to be 12 year age stated up until a couple years ago when they took it off. Elijah Craig barrel proof (different product) remains 12 year and is stated on the bottle.

Good looking juice right there. Might have inspired me to hit my regular Laph 10 tonight.

The normal 10 is good, but CS is on another level.
