t00f where did you get an allocated bottle like that from? You are always out of town when the good stuff gets released.

quote:

Legally I’m pretty sure as long as it’s made in the US (and follows the > 50% corn, new charred oak barrel, etc. requirements) it can be called bourbon.

Has to be made in Kentucky to be called “Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey”, however.

All of this is correct.

How does the Old Ezra 101 compare to Virgin? Both 7 year 101 proofs from Heaven Hill supposedly with the same or similar mash bill. Assuming they’re comparable? Can’t find any Old Ezra offerings in Alabama.

Yeah seems that it is harder to find and more expensive since they discontinued it but they are the same. Virgin may be a little better.

Ezra Brooks is starting a barrel program though which could bring some good stuff to the table.

Would love to try the barrel strength OE. May have to track one down when I’m out of state. Definitely going to keep a couple bottles of Virgin on hand at all times in case that dries up as well.

I found some Pappy, W12, and others in the wild in Vegas (not pictured OFBB for $699).

My favorite in McKenna for $100

The GTS was probably the best buy @ $500

Any intel on Cream of Kentucky 11.5? I found it online for $165. I know it’s been fairly hyped. Most other places I saw was $200. Decent bottle? Worth a grab?

What are the odds of me tracking down a couple bottles of EH Taylor small batch when I’m in Alexandria next month? And what price would I be looking at if I did?

EHTSmB should be around $36 or so. It hasn’t been terribly hard to find in LA lately, but the Ellick market is unfamiliar to me

Good deal. I’ve never seen a bottle of it in person. The state stores near me only ever get Eagle Rare and Sazerac consistently as far as BT products go, and the Eagle Rare goes as soon as it hits the shelf.

Is there a go-to supermarket that usually has it in stock?
