That surprises me. I've only tried it once but I really really liked it. I've got 2 bottles coming my way. I guess it just further confirms that my tastes don't fully match up with most of you guys. I like the seasoned wood more than the cured oak. I don't really care for PMP. Much prefer plain old Weller 12. Also, I hate Michters Toasted Barrel.

Vacation or business?

I'm just curious because a bunch of guys from my company will be heading there soon as well.

Just vacation thankfully

It's a very popular tour. It fills up a month in advance

It's an amazing tour. I really enjoyed it. The tasting bar is extremely reasonably priced. You can still get Hibiki 17 minis there also. The rest of the country however is in a drought.

Updated list from March. For those of you that don't want to look it up ¥2900 is about $27.

FYI for the BR baws. The Beverage Store has some Knob Creek 2001 Batch 2 for $86.

I am going to destroy that gift shop. Did you have any luck in duty free or other liquor stores?

Got lucky today. Left one bottle of the ECBP on the shelf because it didn't feel right to buy all 3. If anybody in Houston wants to know where the last one is just drop me an email and I'll let you know.

Also spotted plenty of Yippee Ki-yay and a couple of the 22yr OB Rhetorics

There will be 3 different batches. Just thought I would post because it is a great price.

3 batches total on that KC2001. Based on all reviews I've read thus far on dozens of blogs and r/bourbon, Batch 1 will be the best by far. Batch 2 will absolutely be the worst. And batch 3 will be in between, but still not worth the price. Weird gimmick. Still haven't busted the seal on my batch 1 I got a few days ago... Too much other juice to rot the liver away on first.

1PD and a healthy sample pour bottle I made for one of my fellow bros on here. I get just creative enough with my sample bottles

But for real, this stuff has quickly elevated into my current top 3.
My first pour a few weeks ago when I got the bottle I was really confused bc I wasn't used to whiskey aged in other casks/barrels.
But this has turned into something great
I would do a drawn out review r/bourbon style but that would be... Pointless.

Summary: Tasts like a chewy caramel with sweet tarts powdered inside. It's a LOT thicker mouth feel than other whiskeys.
There's that typical rye tea/tobacco presence briefly... But man this is unique and great once opened up.

TL;DR : Get this if it is reasonable near you. If not it's 74.99 at my local haunt and I'll get it to you
