2PD: Old Forester 1910

Wick, I see you asked where I got it. I got it from a little grocery store in Boutte called Majoria's. Very surprising selection there. I'm local, so I go fairly often.

The 1910 is really nice. Very small step down from the 1920 in my opinion.

3pd (probably my final pd): Russell's Reserve Barrel selection from Martin's. They knocked this one out of the park again.

I have been enjoying bourbon for a few years now, but unfortunately I missed the Saz 18 shelf turd days.

Ironically I got 2 bottles of it on the shelf at retail... I couldn’t get out of the store without somebody trying to buy 1 of the bottles from me... turns out that somebody was Tiger Attorney lol

All Your Pigs are His

Speaking of Hipster Bourbon Bois. Had one the other day over the moon to find this Repeal Batch Jim Beam He told me I should get it, I passed . Anybody had it?

Call me cynical but I think the new owners are trying to dump some lesser juice with these new $20 dollar special releases.

I haven’t had that one but I have had the distillers cut and it’s a decent high proof pour and cheap AF.

The 2 on the left I just bought. Others came with the company and no idea how old. All 100ml, not sure if that matters.

Who knows anything about the Game of Thrones themed whiskeys/scotches? Seeing them on some resale sites (for fairly reasonable prices), but at a few stores around BR, everyone plays dumb. "what?" "I don't know about that."

Are these gonna be unicorns?

A couple question:

Anyone ever hear of orphan barrels? (I think that's what its called)

My brother is a bartender at "The Pearl" on 30A. He talks about a couple of bottles they got from an orphan barrel. He says they are barrels that are usually experimental or just forgotten. Different bottling companies grab them up, sell them for an arm and a leg. He said last year they had a couple bottles from a orphaned barrel of Weller.

Second question:

Has Calandro's set the raffle date yet? Last year, it seemed late. It usually runs around the 10th of December. TD still meeting up on aisle 10?
