Per BT rules the auction/raffle had to occur by 2/28/17... with there only being 200 bottles of the current year release and all going to non-profits I am not really sure what type of reviews will be available. It would be nice to get a sample to taste test!

I think the potential hype train will start once we find out the age/mash bill/ and proof.

I believe the price point for the raffle tickets will be around $25/per so hopefully that should create plenty of interest.

Sounds like a great plan Hedge. Wish you and your non-prof much success with this raffle.

Have an OFBB question for the board. How would you rank the last four years of releases on taste? (13,14,15,and this years new release) TIA

I've got 15 & 16 and think they're both great. 15 is a notch above though

Knob Single and Wild Turkey Rare Breed are IMO the two best bourbons under $50.

Looking for a house bourbon since Eagle Rare is getting damn hard to find around here. Picked up a bottle of 4R small batch...impressed. Are those two as good as it gets for ~$30? I like Wild Turkey 101 and Dickel 12 (both about $20-$25) but the ER10 and 4R seem to be a cut above those two.

I have a feeling I'll be using a vacation day Thursday if we win.

Say drock, any of those ER store picks left? I'd be interested in 1 or 2 if someone could hook a brotha up.

Saw a handful at the Calandro's on Saturday...I left one handle for someone and there were a dozen or so fifths on the barrel display.

Last time I went Acquistapace's had a few of their ER pics left. The Martin's ones might be gone.

I won't be back at any of those spots for at least a month but hopefully someone else can make a run soon.

Tide, I lean more toward ER & Elijah Craig normally. McKenna 10 is a steal at around $32, but I can't speak for much WT or Dickel (though the Dickel 9 yr & 14 yr picks a couple yrs ago were solid).

I've had very few 4R's I haven't liked, and EH Taylor SmB is about as good as it gets in the $35 range.

I've only had 2 Birthday bourbons.

2013 >>>> 2014

Don't get me wrong. I really liked the 2014. Drained that bottle quickly. 2013 was just very good.

(Public Service Announcement)

DO NOT BUY BARREL BOURBON RELEASE 7B.

I had heard great things about Barrel Bourbon. My guy at my local store got me a bottle for $80, so I figured it was worth a shot. So damn bad. It was like it had all the flavors, Seriously, all of them, good and bad. Caramel, cherry, dirt, cinnamon, sweat, rancid milk. You name it, it was probably in there. This 120 proof bottle of arse finishes with nothing but burn and astringency. This bottle is now what I give to people when they ask what I have for them to mix with coke.

I appreciate your opinion but I think a lot of people will disagree with you. I would easily put the whole Weller line and Eagle Rare above KC and WT.

Also Bowman Brothers, SAOS (these 2 might push your $50 price limit).

Enjoy your tastings.
