Thanks very much for posting this. Means a lot.
I actually came across that pic looking for the Kolb's sign, which I think is still up. I love looking up old New Orleans things, always something interesting.

Have you been to the fatherland?

I haven't been to the homeland, but my brother has. We're from Alsace and he went to the family church, visited family farms and vineyards. So many places I want to see, I personally can't make up my mind where to start.
I found a menu from Fabacher's Restaurant and there are also items from the restaurant, Jax Brewery and all the great restaurants mentioned in this thread on E-Bay.
I also found out that Lawrence Fabacher, the family patriarch had a restaurant on the corner of Royal and Iberville, where Mr. B's is now.

The beer is incredible. I'm with you on not knowing where to start. I tried to plan Germany, Switzerland, and Austria is one trip and realized the couldn't do it. Did Germany, Czech Republic, and just Vienna. Going to do Switzerland and western Austria on another trip.

Very cool. It's great that New Orleans is such a nostalgic city and things like that are saved.

I want the original BR Panchos on Florida Blvd back along with the Broadmoor Theater next to it.
Also, the Mr Gattis on State Street.
And Lucy's on 3rd...I miss $1 taco Tuesday (Lava Cantina just doesn't have the laid back vibe Lucy's had).

Funny, I has always thought TD sometimes creates news stories for the media, or at least stirs the idea to do something similar. Here is an example that popped up today at nola.com.
21 lost New Orleans restaurants: vintage photos
Anything Goes made the list:

Anything Goes
The infamous restaurant was started by the three Brennan brothers, Owen, Jimmy and Pip (pictured), who ran Brennan's on Royal Street for decades. Most people mainly recall the wacky decor.

In the 90's, Lucky Cheng's in the French Quarter featured all drag queen waitresses who did comedy and lip syncing. The cocktails were pretty good and it was a hip, fun place to go for as long as the mystique lasted.. But I don't think it needs a comeback. It can be filed away and mentioned for nostalgia's sake.
