As I write this I’m eating for the first time at Charleys. This one is in Abingdon, Virginia. My cheese steak is delicious.

RIP New Orleans Poboys and Gyros on Coursey. Philly with a side of cheese curds was our go to fat meal when we lived out that way.

Jersey Mike's is the best cheesesteak i've had, and that includes pat's and geno's in philly.

Had not been back until today. No way this is the same thing they have always served.

Terrible Philly's?

Yeah, that's just a new variation on it...

The only good Philly place Baton Rouge has had was South of Philly, but the original closed and the Philly based owner sold the other location and it's supposedly went to shite.

For all intents and purposes BR doesn't have Philly's, just a few places that put steak on hoagies and add a variation of toppings, most of which wouldn't be found in any well regarded Philly shop.

I would be remiss if I didn't post my cheesesteak wit onions and mushrooms pics from the cheese challenge a couple of days ago. Very easy to make.

That's Cheese Whiz on the left and provolone on the right. Personally, I think it's better than any of the places I've tried around here.

They really are super easy to make, and now I want to make them again.

I hope so! Since it was made with Prime NY Strip. Haha.

Though I guess I can't talk since I used beef tenderloin for the sandwich challenge a while back.
