I’m looking for places I should try while in the area. I will be in town alone for work over a few day period so I’m not looking for anything over the top but more so places that are unique to the area that I should try. I would be down for some good BBQ for sure.

La Ventana or Taco Stop for Tacos in Dallas
Hard Eight in the Colony, Lockhart in Plano, or Hutchins BBQ in McKinney are all great spots for BBQ.

Whiskey Cake
Sixty Vines
North Italia
Haywire
Ida Claire
Cattleack BBQ
Pecan Logde
Lockhart Smokehouse
Torhcys Tacos
Velvet Taco
Biscuit Bar
Kennys Wood Fire Grill

All good options, if you tell where you are staying I can give you things in that vicinity.

I thought both of these were just ok, North Italia more than Ida Claire. Ida Claire looks cool when you walk in, but the food was just meh to me.

Both have a dish or two that I really like. I would somewhat agree with you though.

I 1000% agree with you on Mi Cocina

It is very good. I actually went saturday night to the one at the Star but they are working on a very limited menu right now so it was a little disappointing.

Id drink that voodoo sauce they make by the gallon.

Marufuku Ramen. It's just as good as the original shop in San Francisco, best ramen I've had.

You know what you call a restaurant in Plano? Nothing special, just a Plano restaurant.

It's not mind blowing. Another decent place is Campuzanos. I don't really know the actual "best Tex Mex" I'm Dallas another to the locals though.
