Everyone I've called only has field run. Anyone know where I can buy selects? Thanks.

K&N Crawfish in Walker $3 a pound for select. You will be pleased.

Who has field run without the large crawfish pulled out? I have no interest in paying for select especially since the meat yield gets lower as the crawfish gets bigger.

K&N also has field run with big crawfish in it.
I get what they call medium/Large. $2.25 a lb this week.

Maybe unpopular opinion: Select crawfish is a rip off.
More of the weight is locked up in the body.
Let the dumb Texans do this.

It’s a fact - non-exponential growth. The heads grow faster than the tails. The smaller the crawfish, the greater the meat yield by weight. And you’re paying for crawfish by weight.
If someone wants to pay extra for large, fine by me. But what it does is cause the large ones to be picked out of the regular sacks. So you end up with no large crawfish because they took them all out. For me, I want straight runs all the way. Give me medium, large, and extra large all mixed together. As long as they aren’t small.

I'm not paying $1 more per lb for "select" pond crawfish that are hard shelled and dark colored.
Give me a large spillway every single time. Meat is a little sweeter, yield is awesome, easy to peel, and that lighter shell let's the seasoning soak in just right.
