Is it better than the one that was on magazine in Nola but closed? I thought it was mediocre and overpriced.

Yes, the Mandeville and Covington Coffee Ranis are much better than the Uptown location.
Another Beautiful Day is a health food store with a lunch counter (next to the DMV). Their super sandwich (a veggie sandwich) is amazing, but they have salads too.
