Been on Community for years. Since I was a kid thats all we’ve ever used. Ventured out a while back and realized community is very mediocre coffee (slightly above folgers.) Just picked up some Peets. Can’t wait to try.

What’s everyone brewing these days?

I like a lot of them. Only buy community on big sale because it is more bitter than others. Actually purchased shurfine brand at hi nabor the other day for the camp and it was not bad at all.

I usually buy fancy organic at the house.

The dark roast fresh ground in a French press is my favorite coffee. I will agree about the price but it’s always on sale at rouses.

Community is like $6 a bag here. We alternate between house blend, New Orleans blend, and occasionally the dark roast.

To the OP:

I hate coffee myself. My mom is a huge dunkin donuts fan though so I guess thats good. But she likes it to hot for todays sensitive places to make. So hard for her to enjoy.

I don’t find Community to be mediocre. I’ve had coffee from many different parts of the country and other countries, and I still like Community best. I’ve even shared Community with friends from way outside LA and each of them has enjoyed it.

I suppose it’s just a matter of taste. But I do agree they’re getting ridiculous with their pricing.

1000 faces. Small roaster in Athens Georgia.

Expensive as hell to buy normally, but it's the standard coffee on the menu at many restaurants and coffee shops around athens.

My favorite coffee spot in athens is next door to a Starbucks. They serve 1000 faces coffee for about a dollar less per cup than you can get at the starbucks and it's much much better.

Get you a coffee grinder and buy whole beans. Just about any decent coffee will be much much better.

I like Community at home where I can brew it a little strong and cut it with real cream. The one-pot packages at work brew a little weak.

That said, for a while last year I had some Kona peaberry beans that I had to grind myself that were absolutely awesome. Haven't found them again since I ran out. But I'm ok with extra strong Community cut with cream.
