I got a new grill and I’m thinking about throwing some ribs on tomorrow.

Rub them with mustard
Plenty of good over the counter rib rubs
Another good idea if to look up the rib rub by the bbq pit boys on YouTube

Meathead's Memphis dust. Awesome flavors and makes a great bark. Very easy recipe and makes a lot.

Tony’s to season. Smoke while spritzing with apple juice. Finish with a homemade Memphis dry rub.

I like savory, not sweet so here's my mix:
Coat ribs with olive oil
1 tblsp salt
1 tblsp pepper
1 tblsp garic powder
1 tblsp onion powder
1 tblsp chipotle chili powder

Clean then spritz with apple juice. Base rub of Texas Trinity (Academy). Let it sweat in then top rub of Lambert's Sweet Rub O' Mine (also Academy).

Base of Simply Marvelous cherry with smokin guns on top is a favorite of mine.

That and Meat Church are my favorite. Not easy to find on a store shelf though.

That actually doesn't sound bad. Not at all.

How much honey? Light or thick coat?

Just a light coat, will help them get a good color and help the rub stick.
Also.....I forgot a little chili powder in the rub.

Terrific. I'll try it.
How well do you taste the honey? I prefer ribs savory but honey is a different kind of sweetness that I may actually like on ribs.
I can't believe I didn't think of this before. I cook with honey alot in various Asian dishes and sauces.
I'll do a rack monday.

It’s not overwhelming.......if you want more/less sweet just adjust the amount of honey.
I mainly use the honey for color and to help rub stick. But it does add just a hint of sweetness.

we use a thin coating of steens syrup just enough to make them sticky and shiny. we use our own cajun seasoning kinda like tony's only not as salty. As stated before just to help the seasoning to stick. When we do sweet sticky style we mix 2 cups light brow auger and 1 cap Cajun seasonings and rub that on thick.
