I'm supposed to be having dinner at Josephine Estelle in the near future.
Has anyone been?
What's the word?

Been a few times. It's pretty good.

The new chef changed the crudo which was a huge mistake as it was the best thing.

The pasta is good.

The Ace hotel is a total scene FYI. It's always packed with hipsters.

It's a complete shite show on weekend evenings. I love the bar at the Ace in the afternoon though.

Yeah. If your older than 30, and not into man buns, I'd avoid the Ace at night. Its ground zero for everything that is wrong with New Orleans.

Sounds like I'm going to stick out like a sore thumb.
Not the end of the world, though, as I doubt a bunch of man-buns will do anything about it.
Appreciate the scoop.

It's not that bad. Folks on the rant don't like anyone who in any way looks just a little bit different. The restaurant will be filled with normal folks like at 90% of the restaurants in Nola.

The restaurant itself looks awesome - sort of a Belle Epoque look. I've found the food to be very underwhelming. It should be a lot better than it is. But I keep going back, so they are obviously doing something right.

I love the bucatini and the shishito peppers. Meatballs are good too. It's surprisingly unpretentious food. Service is hit or miss.

Unless it's a show sponser. Or an eat club event. Or his wife's idea. Or a Brennan place.
Or a Vickie Baily place. If she calls him he will be in the door two minutes after the place opens
