. . . when you got your sense of taste back after having lost it for several weeks?

Pan Seared Rare Ribeye with a side of homemade scratch garlic mashed potatoes and grilled veggies. Glass of Cab.

Bourbon on the rocks and a slice of pecan pie for dessert.

I don't think you're connecting the dots.

I want to say steak and lobster. But it would probably be pizza. Tommy’s pizza, specifically. Which reminds me I’m due to order one.

Something with big, bold flavors, lots of aromatics.

Vietnamese, Thai, Mexican, Indian.

You just got your taste back, I'd want to celebrate the shite out of that.

It doesn't come back all of a sudden, it has to be coaxed out. My wife and I both lost taste & smell on the same day, within a week, that was the only symptom left. I started eating strong tasting food to bring it back, a teaspoon of creole mustard in the morning, kimchi, pickled onions, wasabi, within days I started tasting them, within a week I was 90% back. My wife didn't like my cure, so she took almost 2 months before she could smell even fresh basil.

My first real meal? Seafood gumbo, I appreciated every spoonful.

About day 7 of my covid quarantine I was bored and decided to drive to Kroltz Springs for some boudin and whatnot. I was hoping some good coonass groceries would break thru my no taste/no smell issues. Boy did that fail. I stopped at Kartchners, got about $20 worth of boudin items and a tall boy Budweiser. Went out the the truck almost giddy. I soon found out that boudin is about the worst thing you can eat when you can't taste anything. Just a big ball of mush smh

Tried the same thing on my way back to TX. Had done some hurricane work in Houma. Dead dog tired and stopped at Kartchners. Thought if I could taste anything some boudin balls would do the trick.

Could tell they were spicy but about it.

I was lucky and didn’t lose smell or taste but it kicked my arse for 9 days and weak for another 6.
