t’s not rust (rust color), it’s just stained. I did buy a griddle brick today, did some cleaning and seasoning.

If you seasoned it then you need to get a coat of oil on it. It should ALWAYS be oiled.

When I said seasoned it, that’s what I did, oiled, heated, oiled, heated, cooked on it, oiled it.

If i've learned something it's that i treat my cast iron cookware and blackstone like absolute garbage compared to those on the F&D board.

I very rarely season any of them. Treat them like crap. Clean them with soap and water. I just hose off my blackstone and whipe it down while it's hot. Use it weekly and it looks fine. Same with cast iron cookware.

And the answer is egg roll in a bowl or stir fry for first cook.

This is what a seasoned and oiled 36" Blackstone looks like. No offense, antique.

I got it from a poster here, but thanks for bumping my thread. If you didn’t care, you wouldn’t have posted here

It will get there. What are those white spots, light reflections?

Honest question- do y’all really use it a ton at home? Between stove, sous vide, grill and smoker - I’ve been curious about a griddle but not sure if I’d use it super regularly or if just a griddle pan for the stove is my best bet for cost/use ratio.

That said, I’ve been thinking about it quite awhile without ruling it out so it seems I want one.

The white spots are from the cleaning. Dimples, if you will.

Enjoy it. You’ll have many fantastic meals from it but it can be hot as frick to cook and clean over in the summer.

i use it mostly on weekends. can cook breakfast for the whole family in a lot less time than using the stove.

I've had bacon, sausage, eggs and pancakes going at the same time.

Yes. I rarely use my grill anymore, honestly.

I cook whole meals on it all the time, which is why I like the 36".

I cooked chicken thighs, asparagus, okra, and broccoli on mine just last night for dinner.

I make a big breakfast every Sunday morning on it as well.

I use mine at least 3-4 times a week, more when the weather is nice and we eat on the porch.
