Was going to take a pork butt out the freezer this morning to smoke Sunday
I’ll have to rethink that
Looks like it’ll have to be some inside cooking

Son got me one of those sous vide things for Christmas and I kinda forgot about it. I stumbled across this guy on face book that has a sous vide everything channel and have watched several of hos videos he is entertaining and I am planning to give it a try. I could start that and go head and do a couple ribs on the cool side of ole rusty. Time a couple steaks in the sous vide pot to be ready bout an hour into my q when the coals are really hot and sear tehm for a minute a side on the hot side. That aughta crisp up the bark and make some pretty grill marks we will see. Any of you Baws tried this technique yet? The youtube guy sure makes it look fun and easy.

I'll probably pull some crawfish tails I've saved from some of this years boils and make a batch of crawfish pies.

I pulled out catfish filets and some shrimp to fry for tonight, so I'm going to have a seafood heavy weekend menu planned.

My weather this weekend:

I'd say the sky is the limit. Probably meat on the smoker. My yard is pretty much done (new house - had A LOT of work to get it in shape), time to enjoy it.

Pork butt? Brisket? Portabello mushrooms? Hah! Gotta throw in one ridiculous thing to see if you're paying attention. Nobody's going to waste all day cooking a brisket here... Geez...

I watched the one where he did the tail end of a brisket for 30 days at 135 degrees and then smoked it.

Can't believe he couldn't know how awful that would turn out, and by his, and the cameraman's reaction to the smell of the thing, it had to be absolutely horrid.

Ole rusty is older than many of you Baws and dont have a cord hanging from it no propane tank neither has cooked countless fine BBq including several beer drinking storm cooks.

I'm making gumbo with a huge 11 pound chicken my son brought me from a farm friend. That's a yooge chicken. Will gumbo be good with such a monstrosity? I didn't want to seem ungrateful when it was given to me.

Wife will put a seasoned shoulder roast in the oven, and do sides of brussels sprouts and green beans. The house will be smelling really good by mid-afternoon.
