Coater, have you been to Revolution, Drago's or Caet yet? I went and met some friends at Caet during xmas and all the food I saw being brought out looking soooooo good.

I'm gonna have to look into the Gathering. I haven't heard much about it.

Jones/LL-what brought you to Jxn?

Made a chicken, andouille & oyster gumbo that might have been best I ever did.

Pralines: made four batches. Pecan, walnut, almond & pistachio

Dry aged prime rib eye roast on the BGE

Yep. I did a Black eyed pea dish at Mom's for her and dad's old friends (mostly old coon hunting buddies)...I'll do it until mom tells me to quit. That NYD party (a mild one) has been going on for more than 50 years. I can't wait 'till next year.

Awesome. Traditions are so important, as well as generational connections. Those are what really matter.

I've been to revolution and Caet. Our service was pretty amateur at Revolution the one time we went for a "sit-down dinner" to be honest but I'll give them a pass and try it again. I got the scallops and didn't love them but I think I'm in the minority. We've gone several times and had small plates and drinks at the bar. Fantastic those times.

We only did the charcuterie plate at Caet. It was good. It's a good place to grab some wine and maybe a small plate before heading somewhere else for dinner imo (or ending the night after dinner). It's small and dark. My wife loves wine so she really enjoyed it. Decent small beer selection too.

I was pleasantly surprised by the gathering. Hopefully I just didn't get lucky. We go all the time for Saturday lunch. It's actually a nice place to watch football because of how the bar is arranged. Our kids love it too

The 72 hour braised short ribs I cooked for Christmas day were nothing short of spectacular. Easily the best thing I ate this holiday season.

Didn't do a lot of dining out over the holidays, but we did hit up Zoroona a couple of times. As simple as it is, I really like their lentil soup. I think the best thing we had there were the cabbage rolls.
