I forgot about the rice. I used to get some of that with the smoked wings when I could resist the blackened redfish. Do you remember what kind of sauce came on that redfish poboy?

It was like a tartar sauce, damn that was one delicious sandwich. I had a client in the area who would never leave his office for me to take him to lunch. So I would stop at Streetcar and get us each a poboy and eat on his conference table.

That became my favorite client.

That was 30 years ago, still remember that sandwich.

First one that came to mind is the delcambre blt at shade tree cafe in Broussard

Eta: and now that I'm thinking about it, the Cajun philly and buffalo chicken sandwiches at the same place are 2 and 3. I miss going there for lunch

John Michael's shrimp remoulade wrap (it's hot, not cold) with a side of their awesome pasta salad and mint tea. Can't be topped! Wished they'd open one in BR. It would do so well in that Trader Joe's shopping center.

Upvote for you sir.

I was just coming here to post this. That mofo will change your life.

Owner is really cool too.
I'll put his house baked Viet-Style French Bread up against any out of NOLA. And I've grown up eating many a poboy in South LA. It's literally perfect.

He makes his own fish sauce and Sambal style chili paste that's really good too.

Ham sandwich on white bread, triple meat, extra mayo, with lots of fire hot cheetohs crammed in there. Made one last week for my son and tasted it, it changed my life.

Maybe not the best sandwich ever but just remembering when we moved to New York earlier in life. Step dad took us to a Jewish deli and I had my first reuben in NYC. Of course no cheese but I was hooked from then on...

Not sure if it was called the Red Witch or Cuban Witch, but it was an awesome sandwich at The Dinner Bell in Monroe, which closed a long, long time ago.

The barbecue beef poboy from We Never Close out on Chef Menteur Hwy back in the early 1990's. About two pounds of meat scraps in a spicy sauce with mayo and pickles.
