I was back in LA last weekend and my cousin gave me some pepper jack boudin balls. I think they are not cooked. Can I bake them or do I need to fry? He also gave me some smoked links. I'm pretty sure I can just warm them on the grill.

Air fryer or deep fryer, and they likely are cooked, just need to be heated up. Baked works, but they don’t come out as good.

Smoked links are great on the grill or steamed.

They’re cooked.

I hope you haven’t had it sitting in the fridge a whole week

No they have been frozen the whole time. I don't have enough oil to deep fry so I may just bake for awhile.

They have some good methods to bake them on the Internet. I can’t remember how I did it last time but they came out great.

Now I have an air fryer and I think will be much better

they are cooked just thaw them out, put them in a muffin tin or sheet pan and warm thru/crisp up in a hot oven

Great idea. I'll serve them with snap peas and fresh corn.

I put the balls on the middle rack of the oven with a piece of foil on the lower rack. Preheat to about 375 and cook until they get crispy. Works fine every time.

You can warm the smoked links in the oven if you don't want to put them on the grill. I steam them in the microwave often. I sprinkle them with some water and cover with plastic wrap with a few holes punched in and put the microwave on about 70% power a few minutes at a time until hot enough.

What Gris said. I bake those balls all the time. 20-25 min or so at 375/400…. Make sure you put on foil or on a pan, cheese may start leaking if you aren’t watching closely.

I think I will do this. Put the smoked links on the gas grill for a bit to get them warm.

Any other thoughts?

Smoked links just need to be warmed up. If you are baking the balls…. Put on a pan and links on there w the balls.

I bake the balls frozen, but thaw links before warming them up…. If you don’t have that time, u can do them together.

Or eat the balls now and save the links

I like to crisp the skins on links.
put the links in a skillet with a little water and cover/steam for a little while. Then remove the lid crank the heat and boil off the water/crisp the skin

I warmed both the links and balls in the oven. The links turned out great. Great snap on the crispy casing.

Now, the balls were not as good. I should have pan fried them. The flavor was excellent but they turned to mush.

All in all it was a great dinner. Thanks for the suggestions.

I bought some boudin balls from Billy's and Krotz Springs and I think we put them in the oven or air fryer and they came out nice. THey were definitely fried already and just needed to be heated.
