We usually eat around lunch time, but for some reason, this year mom decided she wanted to eat around 5 PM. This sucks.

Follow up question who host family for thanksgiving:

At what age did your parents agree to come to your house for the meal? I'm 27 and am ready to start cooking and having my family and the in-laws over here

we hosted our first thanksgiving two years ago. It was a lot of work preparing for 8 ppl. I think next time we host we will use disposable plates, cups and utensils and ask everyone to bring a dish

That's what I was thinking. I would like the older folks to be able to still contribute so I was thinking about doing the turkey and have everyone else bring their favorite side

I'm at the beach. We eat at 4 always. Ran a Turkey Trot this morning and just pulled a 22 lb turkey out of oven.

Wine is breathing. Sipping a vodka martini for starters.

I like eating a bit late afternoon.

Usually around 6 or so. Mom usually starts cooking the turkey late in the day.

Nothing like opening the door to the house and that aroma hits you.

Can't wait for the gravy! My mom's gravy is a food group by itself.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
