What ratio of rice to gumbo do y’all put in your bowl?

I’m curious how much rice people put. Sometimes I see people put a shite ton of rice and it looks like they’re just eating a bowl of rice with a few pieces of chicken in there.

Personally, I go with like a 70/30 gumbo to rice. Is that the norm?

9 times out of 10 I end up pouring too much rice in the bowl.

No rice. I love rice but don’t eat it as much. Beans and gumbo have no rice for me.

I think so. I've seen it expressed as rice should be 2/3 the amount of gumbo. That would be 60% gumbo, 40% rice

I do more like 80-20 or 90-10. I just want a little of the rice texture but I want to taste the roux more and of course I horde the meat

Exactly 107 grains of rice. I have found out that 108 is to much and 106 I’m still hungry.

30% rice, 70% gumbo
I don’t like gumbo that turns into bastard jambalaya.....some ppl add way way too much rice. It’s supposed to be liquid and require a spoon. If you can eat it with a fork, you’ve added too much rice.

Potato salad on the side, not in the bowl.

Probably like 20/80, but I don't care if other people do more rice. Ain't my bowl.
