What places do you recommend for small plates/cocktails in NOLA?

Wife and I are staying in the French Quarter for our 5yr anniversary this weekend. There are so many places we haven't tried so I figure a good way to try a variety of different restaurants is just to go around and order a few small plates to share and drinks from each place rather than committing to just one or two places for a huge meal. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Meril, Peche
Underrated place where you can also catch some entertainment and probably a pretty short walk from where you're staying is Three Muses

Off the beaten path date places you should consider:
Bisto Daisy
Brigtsen's
Clancy's
Upperline
Bachanal
This board is obsessed with Peche, I guess the food is good but it's always packed and you will most likely be sat at a spot within inches from the next table.

I would not consider any of these places "small plate" places.
Bouligny Tavern
Bachannal
Effervescence
Peche
Cochon
Cane & Table
Are the type of places I would think of first.

I had a buddy intown for a conference a couple of weeks ago, we started off about 1:00 and ended around midnight.
Peche
Then we went to Butcher
Then off to Dominica
Took a break from eating and stuck to drinking for a couple of hours.
Felix's
and then had a nightcap at Mimi's (no photos) but had the lamb lollipops and something else.
Everything was excellent.

I really enjoyed Meril. It's not really fancy or "upscale". Very good small plates and cocktails.

thats a weak looking dish in the middle at peche. what was that?

In the round dish? It was a smoked drum with potatoes and something else in it. It was pretty good but not incredible

no, the one with the wonton looking things, carrots, and tuna

It was some type of tuna dish. I liked it better than the drum, but I am a big tuna fan.

Got the $61 whole redfish there last night, to share. It’s was damn good. The beef tartare and fish sticks were good too.
