Definitely on my list as well. I'll go next time I make it to Chicago for sure.

Same. I am planning on going either summer or fall 2020.

Prime 112 on South Beach on a vendors dime. Waiter tells us the specials that included a seafood tower with rock crab claws, lobster, caviar, etc etc. He says to bring us 2 of them. They were $1100 each. After wine and entrees the bill ended up at $5600 for 5 people.

Holy shite. That doesn't even make any sense.

Ruth's Chris with the wife for our 10 year anniversary earlier this month, ironically enough. We were out the door just over $500 including tip.

You guys must have not eaten for a couple days after. What all did you order to be that much at Ruth?

It was my parent's friends that are regulars over there and it's what they drink.

I was barely 21 at the time and just getting into wine so I didn't know any better. I drank the frick out of it though because I knew how expensive it is.

I once sold a $3500 750mL bottle of wine to a table. And that was after they drank my last 3 bottles of another wine. 6 guests at the table.

Most expensive meal: Osteria Francescana (I think it ended up being around $1,300 for two people)

Our's too, but I think our bill was only about $1100. Osteria Francescana far and away was the most expensive food per ounce I have ever eaten but also the first time I actually saw food that was so beautiful it was hard to start eating it. Bottura is a genius.

French Laundry was probably second at ~$900 for two.

Amazing photos. Also incredible that we had completely different meals, minus the Oops! I Dropped the Lemon Tart.

Massimo is a genius and couldn’t have been a nicer person, too.

“e” at the Cosmopolitan was $1000 for the wife and me, and we don’t drink. The restaurant seats 8 people.

La Provence in Lacombe. First date that ended in Marriage and two kids. I still crave their pate’ at times.

Second place: The fish caught from my boat.

More on topic: in New Orleans - Commander’s Palace and Doris are where I’ve spent the most money. I find wine pairings and drinks are the key to an outrageous bill at most places.

I know you were asking Obtuse, but I'll chime in.

It was the best dish of the night, IMO. Easily the best singular dish I've had in my life.

I’m poor, so it’s not that big for me.

My wife and I split a steak and wedge salad at Superiors. It was about $70 or so. With drinks and tip the tab was about $110. That was the only time we’ve been to Superior. Ten years ago or so.

Like I said though, I’m poor.

And cheap.
