AMEX black is the only mildly interesting credit card to see in the wild (unless there is something out there I don't know about).

Nobody cares about AMEX platinum, much less a gold card.

Are you looking to impress or BE impressed?

Is that the difference between a mover and a shaker?

Having the server come up the table and say “sir your money is no good here”

That's because last time I paid with counterfeit C-notes.

The method of payment is not what O thought the OP meant. Maybe he is tackier than I thought.

Paying the check without anyone knowing

I love doing this.. especially if it's a table of friends and we're having a good time and dinner.. everybody laughing and drinking and the waiter comes to the table and says, "The check is paid."

Gold card??
Now if your card is a Centurion that's a flex. But I have crap credit and I have an Amex platinum.

. . . greeting the entire wait staff and kitchen staff along a welcome line on the way to be seated at your table ...

Huge honor

Most "impressive" I have seen is the chef covering the tab for the table because a person at the table gave them their start in the business.

Probably knew it would be paid back at some point.
