Well, the recipe is what it is. By the way, I'd eat the mess out of that final picture of the dish.

it’s beans and rice as eaten in nearly every civilization since the agricultural revolution

It looks like the Caribbean dish "peas and rice" which uses red kidney beans, although that uses coconut milk and I didn't see them put that in. On a side note, Peas and rice is a very good Caribbean dish.

I’d scrape the beans and rice off the plate into the garbage.

And eat the veggies, they look good.

This is the kind of dish you get from those promoting basamiti rice

I don’t want my rice smelling like popcorn :)

basmati
However you spell it

This looks like a very poorly made version of Gallo Pinto, a central american rice and beans dish.

Thats not supposed to be the typical dish we make in Louisiana.

And tbh, it looks good. Little crystal on top and a pork chop on the side.

Put curry in it, then it smells like...curry.

Just overreacting

I know you can’t compare that to traditional red beans and rice.

I’m actually pretty open minded about foods and recipes.

I’d definitely eat it. Wouldn’t make it.

But I like the idea of using red beans in a different way.
