Saw a post of someone cooking a Poppa Murphy’s pizza on their grill. I used to love their take and bake pizzas. What happened to the Baton Rouge area Papa Murphy’s?

All of the BR locations closed in 2017, never really an explanation why. Closest open location I've found is Mobile, AL.

I always enjoyed their stuffed pizza. One slice could fill you up.

Yep, I really would like one to grill so I don’t have to make my own dough!

I believe someone with a construction company had opened them in BR. I enjoyed them and would welcome them back

Side note. The fresh dough in the bag at Trader Joe's is great and like $2.

A business model where you wait 20-55 minutes for someone to make you a pizza that has to cook for another 25 minutes after you get it home finally was never gonna work

The concept of take and bake pizza has always bothered me. It makes no sense. They're basically selling ingredients. It's a pizza grocery store.

Their pizzas were good and I was surprised they all closed. I assumed they would do okay because they had the benefit of accepting food stamps; unprepared food. But obviously that didn’t help.
If I am not mistaken the construction company was Arkel.

The one on Collierville, TN was right next door to a Supercuts and a Sports Clips was right across the street, which I thought would have been a great location to combat just what you said. Go into Papa Murphy's order your pizza, go next door/across the street for a haircut, go get your pizza

That doesn’t really fix the issue bc you still have to drive home and cook that pizza that you just waited a bunch of time for the pre made version of it

So it eliminates the ease/quickness of a frozen pizza, and eliminates part of the convenience of take out to create the least convenient way to order a pizza

I don't remember there being a long wait there, but I admittedly only went in myself like 2 times.

Was it partially baked? Seems like throwing ingredients on dough shouldn't take any longer than making a Subway sandwich.

I liked being able to grab a pizza in mid-afternoon on the way home from work and keeping it in my fridge until ready to cook for dinner.
