This board gets some weird random downvotes.

If making Italian, its usually rat pack radio.
Anything Spanish/Caribbean/Hispanic Buena Vista Social Club
Saturday morning stock making, pickling, puttering around is usually WWOZ.
Sunday morning is WTUL/Ella and Louis/Beatles/Edith Piaf.
Steaks, generally Dave Brubeck Quartet or Black Crowes.

It varies, but usual go-tos are Grateful Dead, Drive By Truckers, or Miles Davis pandora stations

I listen to this all day at work, so my brain is pretty over it come nighttime.

Have you noticed their robo-song-selector has been playing the same songs in the same order the past few days? Ready for school to start.

If cooking inside on a weeknight that is.

If on the pit with a tini in the back yard, generally one of the following Pandora stations: The Record Company, The Animals, or Black Keys. Until one of the kids sneaks in my workshop and switches it to the damn Kidz Bop station.

While cooking? Usually bitching about homework.

Until I am about ready to eat, then it is bitching about studying for tests.

Yeah, that's good too, especially when frying turkeys for Thanksgiving Day and needing to stay hydrated.

Sat down to cook a steak outside. Quiet. Thought I was safe. Turned on some better than Ezra radio on Pandora.

Kids barrelled downstairs into the yard and wife called to ask when to start the potatoes and mix the caesar salad.

I didn't even finish one song, not one. And she's pregnant with #3...

I agree with BlackenedOut in that it depends what I'm cooking. If it's gumbo, I may put on some zydeco. If I'm making Japanese, I'll opt for Koto music, and so on.
