For me, it has to be Italy for desserts and my favorite dessert, tiramisu.

tiramisu.

There's something not right with this. I love coffee, but despise anything with a coffee flavor that isn't coffee.

I couldn't pick just one, but France is the runaway winner.

Pretty sure it originated in England, but several countries have their own spin on it.

Madeleines

...and many more

France is the clear winner here.

I feel like Austria may be a dark horse here with Sachertorte and other baked goods.

This, but don’t sleep on Mexican pastries either

Nothing like a fresh concha or polvorone from the panaderia.

And they also gave us Sauternes.

God bless those frogs.

Iran has some good desserts as well, but I have no idea how to spell or pronounce them. Had an Iranian friend growing up whose mom made some delicious stuff.

I’m the same way. France has some awesome sweets, but it’s very sweet. When I was in Italy, I noticed their desserts and pastries weren’t overly sweet.

Try some Iranian ones if you can find them. They're more nut based and not as sweet. Lots of almonds and pistachios. Halva is a common one.

I think a budino is a criminally underrated Italian dessert.

In no particular order, but my top 3:

Austria
France
America (we are the land of glut...milk shakes, donuts, cupcakes, ice cream, cookies, cakes, pies, etc)

Also, anyone who mentions Swiss chocolate has clearly never been to Belgium. Much better chocolates.
