I've had good results asking guys from the meat department at several smaller grocery stores. Need to find a store that actually slices and packages their own meat though. Walmart ain't gonna do it.

Any real butcher (NOT Walmark's) should be happy to do it for you. You'll probably have more luck at small grocery stores with an actual in-house butcher or standalone butcher stops. They'll even appreciate it more if you can call the day before you need it so they can fill the order while they're getting ready for business instead of while they're open on a walk-in.

As always, in a butcher thread, Iverstine is going to come to mind. I'd talk to Maxwell's, Calandro's, and Tramonte's, too.

No knock on Iverstines, they have very high quality meat. I just can't see paying the prices that go along with that quality to make jerky out of it. (I only pretend to be OT rich over on that board)

I used to get it done at LeBlanc's. The butcher would run a whole roast through the bandsaw in under 2 minutes.
I would also share some of the jerky when it was finished.

I've had that done at Whole Foods.

Costco, which has a great meat dept, wouldn't do it.

See, that right there is how you get in good with a butcher. And the dog. And the mailman. And me.
