What brand sausage do you baws use for your gumbo, jambalaya, pastalaya, red beans, etc?
I used to be die hard Manda but here lately I've been using Veron or French Settlement brand.

Not sure where you live but if you can make it to any of the following, it will be a big upgrade over the mass marketed brands:
1) Krotz Springs - Kartchners
2) I-10 Exit 97 - a Kartchners there also.
3) I-10 Exit 44 - Rabideaux's smoked andouille and/or smoked sausage
4) Ville Platte - Teets
If none are these are doable, IMO, Tony Chachere's or New Orleans Smoked Sausage are solid

Recently, I've seen Hillshire Farm .e ruined as an overwhelming favorite on several food blogs I follow.
I can't say I've ever used Hillshire Farm however.
Conecuh is extremely popular, but definitely not a staple for me.

Mentions of that crap is frowned upon on this board.

Im im the Baton Rouge area.
I see some mentions for Conecuh. I just can't pass up a good south louisiana sausage for something made in Alabama.

I just use my deer and pork sausage mixed 60/40.

Conecuh is not bad on flavor it's just too greasy for most traditional LA dishes.
If you're in Red Stick, my recommendation would be to take cooler and make a trip to either Scott, LA or US190 to Krotz Springs and 'load up.'
That's pretty much SOP for us ex-pats in TX.
And IMO, Cajun Prairie offerings >>> River Parishes. Go west from BR, not east.

Porches and Jr’s in French Settlement are two of the best sausages you’ll find anywhere. Porche’s has the best smoke flavor, Jr’s has a sweeter flavor

This. It’s the perfect smoked sausage for pots of stuff.

Veron. Best quality wholesale sausage/andouille you can buy.
Not comparing it to local shops. You can't beat it when comparing to other retail options.

Veron's. We used Savoie's for years until their product became hot dog quality.
