How can you tell when a thigh is over cooked? Don't get it spicy if you don't like it that way.

Not a big fan of chains, and the few I like are definitely not local:
Exki (Belgian)
Shake Shack (esp the chicken sandwich)
Pain Quotidien

Though I do have a soft spot for the various Arzi's in the BR metro area.

Because the texture is off.

I like spicy foods. I don't like their garbage spice blend that has you burping nasty spices the rest of the day.

Super chunk in plaquemine used to allow you to get chicken marinated in jalepeno juice. Excellent.

How bout that.

I guess I am spending more and more time in Savannah and I can't remember the last chain I went to down here.

Some guys came in for business today and I asked them where they ate last night (I had given them a big list) and they said "Ruth's Chris."

I got the

Disclaimer because BR people are obsessed with defending RC: Nothing wrong with RC at all. Good place. But you come to another city with a night to eat out.....I don't get it.

I personally enjoy Outback and Chili's since the somewhat recent menu revamp. Is Sombreros a chain? Best skirt steak anywhere near here.

PF Changs = small portions & high prices

I don't see how anyone eats Krystal. It's been a long time, but my memory is that one would have to buy 6 to make one decent burger out of one bun.

Try Covington and Mandeville. Indepentantly owned and the best Popeyes I have been to.

glassman is correct. Houston's is solid. Very pricey but idgaf. They pretty much do everything in house and pay attention to detail.

It's hard to beat for the money. 9 oz. sirloin, loaded baked potato, pretty large Caesar salad and a nice loaf of bread for what, $16?

Outback, Carrabba's and Bone Fish are all owned by the same folks, IIRC. And they are all very decent, IMO.

The BA burger at Krystal is the best of the fast food hamburgers to me. Their fries are great and the little chik sandwiches are pretty good.

Cookout - solid, no frills food at a decent price.

Del Taco - reminds me of what Taco Bell used to be back in the 80's, before every damn item had to be a more "extreme and outrageous" creation than the last. Just gimme a taco and a burrito, dammit! I just need it to be fresh and to taste good. Del Taco has a damn good turkey taco, too.

Chick-Fil-A - been a huge fan since I had my first job at the one in the Lake Forest Plaza in 1991. That was actually the year they opened the first free-standing location. Back then, they were all in malls. Working there I saw the difference in food compared to other places. I miss the Chick-N-Q (bbq sandwich they had ... awesome).

Willie's Mexican Grill - Atlanta clone of Chipotle/Moe's/etc. I like this one the best though.

Carraba's - "it is what it is" ... light years better than Olive Garden. There's some bullsh!t coming out of there, but you can also get a decent meal. It's a good place to preemptively recommend when you're in a group of people that has some close minded sheep in the mix. They'll likely go along because it's a chain and you can still get a good eat out the deal.

My favorite chain: Maggiano's Little Italy. First one I went to was by the Houston Galleria. I didn't even know it was a chain. Once I found out, I was actually upset they didn't have one in Louisiana. Only chain I would ever get genuinely excited if I found out they were opening one near me.
