There is really only one real Doe's.
The Baton Rouge Location is supposed to be on par with the original in Greenville(My ex has eaten both several times).
I like the food. It's just expensive and not really any better than Outback or Texas Roadhouse to me.

It's far better than those places. FAR. It is expensive though, I'll give you that.
ETA: Which is why I always go for restaurant week. It's a steal.

I was underwhelmed at both Brennan’s and Commander’s. I guess my expectations were too high.

Sammy's
I'm still a fan of Sammy's but....
anyone who's been going there for more than 20 yrs knows the decline has been real.
That said, they are in the midst(last year or two) of rebuilding that brand of quality and portions by tinkering with the menu and improving customer service.

Dang, heard so much about this place. It was a bucket list for me.

La Fonda's; I have no idea how that is classified as Mexican cuisine. Absolute garbage yet it stays packed.
Judice Inn; over spiced hockey pucks served without fries.

Canes
Brothers, Popingos, and even Krispy Krunchy(in that order) have far better tenders than Cane's and Zaxbys if you catch them fresh.
Popingos even has a Geaux Sauce that they admit it's a "spicier Cane's Sauce".

Ruffinos by a long shot
Food is good, but overpriced.
Ruffin being a self-important dickhead kills that place for me.

At at chophouse in NOLA last weekend. I've had better steaks at Texas Roadhouse for 1/3 the cost. The bone in 22oz ribeye was not tender at all and the onion rings sucked.
Also prejeans in Carencro is average at best and nothing more than a tourist destination. Hated when I had to take customers there. Everyone from Texas though it was the best cajun food in the world.

Gotta go with Dragos here.
My only problem with Dragos is nothing on the menu can hold a candle to the charbroileds.... if you get anything after, your meal is going downhill

I used to be on the "hate LaFonda" train, but I've been converted. I'll agree though, their Mexican food isn't great.

I actually meant to mention this. They’re excellent.

Nah, I'm still keeping it on the list. It's basically at the top of every best steak house list so I'm surprised to see it overrated even on the OT.

They are...but it's always funny going to a high end restaurant and wanting nothing to do with the entrees

To top it off Ad Hoc or Addendum has some of the best fried chicken you will ever eat but Keller is the master of all things fowl.
Went to ad hoc last month. We are going to Per Se in NYC in April. Ever been? Thoughts?
We were going to go to Eleven Madison Park, but loved all the other Thomas Keller restaurants we've been to.
