Cooked a pot of chicken fricassee this afternoon.



Served with peas & carrots and buttered bread. Oh, also had a nice crisp salad with this.

Crawfish pistolettes and a sensation salad

Slummin with cheese spaghetti and chicken nuggets

Mahi mahi with a garlicky tomato/mushroom sauce, braised cabbage, Uncle Ben's garden vegetable rice packet, side salad.

Tonkatsu Pork brings back such good memories. The two best accompanying menu items are Miso Soup and a haystack of finely shredded cabbage.

Oh and kirin Beer. Lots of Kirin Beer. Served in small glasses with a host that refills your glass every time if gets half empty. You need a designated driver or better yet a Taxi. As I recall, I had a matchbook in my pocket and showed it to the guy driving our taxi and he knew exactly where the Takanawa Hotel was. Japanese Taxi drivers are very helpful, and evidently accustomed to encountering folks who are smashed on Kirin beer.

We made a pizza with Italian sausage, fresh mozzarella, fresh garden tomatoes, squash, zukes and peppers. You would think it would have been real soggy. And you’d think right. It was a complete damn disaster of a pizza. But eaten with a fork it was on time.
