Local TexMex. Bean dip and two al pastor on corn, most likely.

No lunch so we ate an early supper at Outback: Ribeye steak cooked medium rare. Blooming Onion for appetizer.

Pepper jack shrimp from prejeans. My favorite food to sit down and eat in Lafayette.

Walked down to a place down the street and decided on a buffalo chicken sandwich, topped with lettuce, onion, tomato and blue cheese. I chose a side of skinny fries. It was delicious (just like everything else here).
I started with a Night Shift Mirage DIPA and will end it with a few vodka waters.

American wagyu ny strip. I roasted it at 200 for just 20 minutes then seared it. still came out medium almost medium well. the cut was too thin for that method. tastes great though

Fried chicken tenders and fried brussle sprouts. Smoked paprika, Maple syrup, Cayanne, lemon juice, aïoli dip for the sprouts. It was on point, first try at the sprouts.

Dinner at Elsie's Plate and Pie
Big better blue cheese salad
Red bean & rice with fried chicken, some of the better beans I've had in a restaurant
The Highway 1 Burger with hand-cut fries
Red wine

The red beans at Elsie’s are my favorite restaurant beans. The fried chicken ain’t bad either.

They were real good. I didn’t pay attention to the temp and didn’t have the fire up enough to hold temp so they could probably be better. Still were crispy leaves and soft in the center. I have had them in some restaurants before.
Cut off the bottom and slice in half and that’s it. Fry at 350 till crispy and colored. I used a spoon to move them around a little while frying. Delendong what your frying in watch once you drop, lots of water content so the oil gets pretty happy
Don’t toss the leaves that fall off when cutting those fry up real nice.
I usually do them in my oven or steam convection oven depending on the texture I want. Mix syrup oil salt pepper and fresh minced garlic. 400 till done.
