I have my 8y/o daughter (no pics) helping in the kitchen this evening. I am roasting a chicken, she is preparing "stick of butter rice" as a side dish. Some sort of green veggie will accompany our meal.

We've never had the rice, but we chose it together. It only has four ingredients.

...and Miller Lite (for me)

Happy Thursday to you. You can clean the dishes when the kids get home.

"stick of butter rice"

We had this often growing up and I still make it from time to time. We melt the butter and brown the rice on the stove, then add the liquids and cook on the stove like regular rice. Much nuttier deeper flavor when you brown the rice in my opinion. Much faster, too.

Homemade spaghetti pasta done al dente. Homemade tomato sauce. Extra hot Graziano Brother's bulk sausage has been browned in olive oil, and added to the sauce about two hours ago. I'll sprinkler with parmesan, romano and asiago here in about another 10 minutes. Very little acid, but added a smidge of ground carrots yesterday, and some onion today to totally eliminate it.

Normally get their regular sausage shipped and use 1/2 lb with 1/4 of extra hot, so tonight I threw only 1/4 extra hot in the sauce 2 hours out. Usually can be put in the sauce as quickly as 15-20 minutes.

Different every time I make it, and never bad. Especially when it's all home made, home grown, and the sauce has a long time to marry. About 1 day and a half now.

Anyway, I like it, and I'm proud of this creation.

These guys will ship if anyone in interested:
