Trying a new southern spaghetti receipe.

Slow cooking the meat and homemade sauce in the cast iron for the next 2 hours.

I got 50 pounds of 20/30s today from a shrimper right off the boat at $2/ pound.

We are boiling shrimp with all the fixins and deheading the rest for freezing.

I don't know what southern spaghetti is, but I hope it's not tomato based in your cast iron..

It really doesn't matter.

No worse than a sauce piquant

I don't make that, but if I did, it wouldn't be in non-enameled cast iron either

Tomatoes in cast iron is one of those old myths like not using dish soap in cast iron. There is no real basis to it.

You cook a lot more acidic food in cast iron than tomatoes. I forget all the pH's, but a lot of veggies are more acidic as well as meats and fish. Eggs are pretty acidic as well.
