Friend,
Uncle brought over some fresh toro from a trip earlier this week. It was not that great, as I think it was about a 150 lb yellowfin, and when they are under 200 lbs, the toro has a small fat to muscle ratio, leaving it with a tougher consistency. I decided to sear it and use ponzu with some salmon roe. It was not that good.

Pork chops and a salad

It’s from a local company that does DIY kits so I can’t claim the recipe, but I did follow the instructions to make it!
Made sushi rice and fried into cakes. Layered slice avocado on each. Spooned a spicy shrimp salad (boiled shrimp, green onions, sriracha, mayo, cream cheese, bread crumbs, soy). Topped with jalapeño. Drizzled sriracha and eel sauce on top.
I had so much topping left I made it into a dip for the game tomorrow.
If you’re in BR, the company is called Ingle Eats. They do a variety of DIY kits, frozen meals, and freezer ready meals. Twice a week. Pickup Tuesday and Thursday, or delivery if you live in 70808 or 70806.
Their food has been awesome so far.
