re: Went to TJ Ribs on Acadian last week. This place has gone downhill

I would be shocked if the brisket was actually smoked
Pretty sure the only thing smoked is their wings...the only thing good on the menu. I think it actually says on the menu that their brisket and ribs are baked in the oven then placed on the grill...I know for sure that's what it says for the ribs. The pic you posted is how I picture every meal looking at TJ's. In all fairness, I had an serviceable, but very over cooked, burger from there last week.

In BR?
Good friends of ours work there. It is definitely prime beef and is one of the only Ruth's in the country that cuts their own meat. So yea
Yeah in BR. Admittedly, it was before they renovated it. Yes, it's been a while, but that experience kept me from going back.

I agree that renovations were needed but the food has been the same. The pictures on the wall had to go. Ive had a few steaks overcooked there but the quality has always been top notch. I order rare or medium rare so slightly overcooked isnt the end of the world.
And their sides have always been very legit

What happens to a restaurant after the owner dies? Does it just cease to exist or does it just get transformed into a shite restaurant?
Ruth's Chris says hi

You're right, but since I was at TJ's, my expectations had already been scaled back pretty far.

$1 Margaritas really brings out a shitty crowd.
I like the wings, they aren't my favorite, but $20 wings and beer during football is legit.
The brisket quesadilla is awesome. It's worth trying.

The bus boy brought out the tub and started putting the cups in but when it came to the plates, he would take the plate and scrape all the food off onto the table. Every plate and side dish. Talking piles of meat, half chickens with bones, salads, and whatever else they had for sides just getting piled into the middle of the table. Once finished, the guy rolled up the white paper like a burrito with all the food in it and dripping out the sides and hauled it off. It was easily the size of 2 footballs. I just kind of laughed to myself but I could see people getting grossed out by this.
That's gross. An assistant manager should have kicked the bus boy's arse for doing that. I've been to buffet restaurants where they consolidated dirty glasses and plates on one table and that made me nauseated. But this is worse and it's at a real restaurant, not Mr. Gatti's.

The story sounded like the owner was still alive
He is. TJ sold the place to his son several years ago.

The beef ribs on Siegen were always really good, as were the wings. Not sure what it's like now as it's been a while
