Split the pulled pork, sliced brisket, half chicken, potato salad, and corn bread with a friend. Everything was very good, with the brisket being my favorite. Not cheap, but I don't think utterly out of line with the value received.
Also, I overheard that they were on a two hour wait by about 5:15, so they are doing ok for now. Just a matter of whether it holds up after the shine wears off.

finally got a chance to try it
6pm on a Tuesday and packed
all tables full, bar full, 2 hr wait without a reservation
we had beers, frozen rose' to drink
buratta, grilled oysters, grilled fish and a black bean & corn salad
a ridiculously large piece of carrot cake and coffee to finish
clearly I'm biased but the place looks and feels great, the service was friendly and prompt, and the food was perfectly cooked, really tasty and well presented. I'm generally not a fan of BRs dining options but this is a winner and should have staying power.
at least I hope it does so they'll build another one
next week we are adding on to the rear porch service area to add another smoker and a much larger walk in cooler so they can manage these crowds without running out of food

as you know that's a good business model, one far better than the alternative

Not a big fan of going out to eat any bbq. The meat is all cooked so far in advance and then reheated (unless going to a place like Franklin's and such). Just no other way to do it.

I went yesterday around 11:30 and just beat the heavy lunch crowd. Had the Tuesday lunch special which was chicken fried steak w/ briskey gravy, mashed potatoes, and peas. Our waitress, Adriana, was a dime. Really like the layout and farmhouse style of the interior. I'll be back soon with a bigger group of people to try more of the apps and actual bbq. Menu looks great.

They have $9.99 lunch specials... for those on the cheaper side for lunch
That's perfectly reasonable in my opinion... the first few posts (and the menu I saw posted on FB) didn't say anything about lunch specials.

Went there today and thought all the food was great. Cheeseburger was delicious, and so were the drop biscuits and queso.
I lol'd when the server explained that they only serve soft drinks in glass bottles because "they only want to serve the freshest product possible." Will definitely go back, but not having fountain soft drinks is a major turn-off.

I've now been twice. Once for dinner and once for brunch. The place is a very nice improvement from BR's other options. It's certainly on the pricier end, but it's worth it, in my opinion.
I will continue to go back, and we'll see if it can hold on to the quality it currently has.

Loved the brisket and cornbread. The pit beans were solid. Will definitely go back.
$2.50 for an 8 ounce bottle of coke is a bit much. Also not a fan of no ice in a small glass of water. The waiter did return with a larger glass of ice when asked.

Didn't love it
I didn't either, and I really wanted to.
I was picturing one of those BBQ places that are dime a dozen in Texas: red-and-white checkerboard tablecloth, casual family style atmosphere, good BBQ and traditional sauces.
(We really need one of those in the BR area)
I thought BRQ did some things well (the andouille sausage was top-notch), but it didn't "wow" me overall. The food temperature was lukewarm, the sauces were too cute by half, the atmosphere was a little stuffy to bring kids into, and the staff appears to still be trying to figure it out. And it was pretty expensive.
I'm pulling for the place, but our first visit was a bit of a letdown.

Ordered out for the LSU game, went early and sat at bar for a few beers while waiting for order. We ordered the half rack of ribs, pulled chicken, pit beans and corn bread to feed 2.5 people (my 2 year old doesn't count as a whole).
The atmosphere was nice, reminded me of City Pork without having to sit on top of the table next to you.
The food was good, not great, as the ribs were pretty dry. The chicken was flavored well and the sauces were very good (think we had straight BBQ and the vinegar base). The beans were tasty and corn bread was above average.
I saw a slice of the carrot cake come out for a table and added it to my order. 1 slice could seriously feed 8 people, and I knew my in-laws would be over Sunday for Father's day, so we saved it for then. Very good.
I'll go back.

I am interested in trying the Red Beans & Rice w/andouille (Monday's special), so this news is pleasing to my ears. And does anybody know if you get a link of andouille with the red beans or is it just sliced up in the red beans or both?
